NCBA Bank Uganda today officially launched the Uganda leg of the 2026 NCBA Golf Series at Uganda Golf Club, reaffirming its commitment to growing the sport of golf, nurturing emerging talent, and creating opportunities for golfers across the region.

Now in its fourth year, the NCBA Golf Series has evolved into East Africa’s premier amateur golf tournament, bringing together golfers from Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda in a competitive circuit that continues to raise the profile of the sport across the region.

The launch follows a successful season opening in Kenya and sets the stage for an exciting series of qualifiers in Uganda, where golfers will compete for a coveted place at the regional Grand Finale scheduled for November 2026.

Speaking at the launch, NCBA Bank Uganda Executive Director, Julius Konyani said the tournament reflects the bank’s broader commitment to investing in communities and creating platforms that empower individuals to achieve their full potential.

“The NCBA Golf Series has become much more than a golf tournament. It is a platform that discovers, nurtures, and celebrates talent while promoting values such as focus, resilience, and excellence. Through this series, we are demonstrating our commitment to supporting sports development and creating opportunities that positively impact communities across East Africa,” said Julius Konyani, Executive Director of, NCBA Bank Uganda.

The Uganda leg of the tournament will comprise two qualifying events, beginning with the first qualifier at Uganda Golf Club on Saturday, 13 June 2026, followed by a second qualifier at Entebbe Club on 3 October 2026. The qualifiers will attract some of Uganda’s leading amateur golfers alongside rising talents seeking a place among the region’s best.

The Chairman, Board of Directors of Uganda Golf Club, Paul Nuwagaba welcomed the continued partnership and noted the growing impact of the tournament on Uganda’s golfing landscape.

“The NCBA Golf Series has played an important role in elevating competitive amateur golf in Uganda. Beyond providing a high-quality tournament experience, it has created valuable opportunities for emerging golfers to test themselves against top talent and gain exposure at a regional level. We are delighted to once again host this prestigious event,” said Paul Nuwagaba

Uganda has continued to strengthen its presence in the regional competition. During the 2025 edition, the country recorded its largest-ever representation to qualify for the Grand Finale, with seven golfers qualifying, including junior golfer Gabriel Amani. Several golfers who have participated in the tournament have since progressed to represent Uganda at international competitions.

A key differentiator of the NCBA Golf Series remains its commitment to inclusivity and sustainability. Since its inception in 2022, the tournament has actively supported initiatives aimed at expanding access to golf for young and emerging players, helping grow the sport beyond traditional audiences.

The 2026 edition is expected to attract hundreds of golfers across the region and further strengthen East Africa’s position as an emerging hub for amateur golf excellence.

As the countdown to the first qualifier begins, NCBA Bank has called upon golfers, partners, and the wider golfing community to participate in what promises to be one of the most competitive and impactful editions of the tournament to date.

The NCBA Golf Series is East Africa’s premier amateur golf tournament, that takes place in Uganda, Kenya, Tanzania, and Rwanda. The tournament provides a platform for competition, talent development, networking, and community engagement while promoting the growth of golf across the region. Since its launch, the series has become one of the most anticipated fixtures on the East African golfing calendar.
