This landmark event convened Public and Private Sector Representatives, specifically immigration authorities and representatives of the Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministries of Trade, Labour organizations, Service sector regulators, and representatives from service sector Business entities across all EAC Partner States. President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni will assume the chairmanship of the African Peer Review (APR) Forum of Heads of State and Government in February 2026, a role that will see Uganda take the lead in guiding continental governance and development priorities. Ugandan companies registered a further expansion in business activity midway through the third quarter, extending the current sequence of growth to seven months as the headline Stanbic Bank Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) remained above the positive threshold mark of 50.0. At 53.3 during August, the Stanbic Bank PMI was down slightly from 53.6 in July, but maintained a trend of improving private sector conditions on a monthly basis since February. Centenary Bank, in partnership with the African Guarantee Fund (AGF), hosted the inaugural Enterprise Finance Summit at Mestil Hotel, Kampala, under the theme “Empowering Enterprise Growth Through Smart Financing Solutions.” The summit was organized following an agreement signed in December 2023 between Centenary Bank and AGF, a specialized guaranteed provider whose mission is to facilitate economic development and poverty reduction in Africa.
