Equity Bank Uganda has launched Equity Online for Business, a powerful new digital platform designed to simplify financial management and empower enterprises of all sizes. The platform represents a major upgrade from the Bank’s previous solution, EazzyBiz, offering enhanced speed, security and convenience to meet the demands of today’s fast-paced business environment.

Speaking at the launch of the platform at Protea Hotel in Kampala, on Wednesday, Executive Director Claver Serumaga said the new platform was designed around the evolving needs of modern businesses.

“Commerce is evolving rapidly, with customers expecting immediacy, reliability and seamless integration. Equity Online for Business responds to these needs by consolidating all essential financial tools into one platform: enabling businesses to manage accounts, supplier payments, payroll, recurring bills, foreign transactions and reconciliations with clarity and efficiency,” said Serumaga.

Effective Wednesday, April 8th, 2026, all business customers will be required to use Equity Online for Business to continue transacting through the bank’s digital channels. The new platform retains all the core capabilities previously available on EazzyBiz while introducing a range of enhanced features aimed at improving financial management and operational efficiency for businesses.

“Equity Online for Business is more than an online banking portal, it is a comprehensive financial management tool designed to eliminate inefficiencies and give businesses the confidence to make real‑time decisions,” said Serumaga. “We are committed to continuously improving this platform based on customer feedback and investing in technology that supports business growth,” he added.

Businesses will also benefit from advanced liquidity and cash flow management tools, including multi-currency visibility and automated sweep transfers designed to optimize treasury management.

Additional features include self-administration, allowing corporate administrators to independently onboard, manage, or deactivate system users, as well as omnichannel access through web browsers and a dedicated mobile application.

The platform further supports real-time analytics, automated reconciliations, managementdashboards, and robust audit trails, helping businesses reduce accounting overheads, control cash leakages, and make more informed financial decisions.

Security remains a central pillar of the platform. Equity Online for Business incorporates enhanced password protection, One-Time Password (OTP) verification via email or SMS, token-based authentication, and structured user authorization workflows.

Additional capabilities such as instant inter-country transfers, real-time foreign exchange rate updates, and integrated statutory and bill payments further position the platform as a key enabler of a cash-lite, digitally driven business ecosystem.

    Partnership and Support

Equity reaffirmed its dedication to walking alongside business leaders, with relationship teams ready to provide onboarding, training and integration support. The Bank encourages current users to explore the enhanced features and invites new customers to join the platform.
