Ugandan spiritual leader, cultural revivalist, and award-winning musician Jjumba Lubowa Aligaweesa has officially unveiled his highly anticipated new album titled “SUPER POWER.”

The album was announced during a major press conference that attracted media houses, cultural leaders, musicians, and followers of the indigenous African spiritual movement he leads.

Known globally as the Universal High Priest (Ssabakabona) of the indigenous African faith Tondism, Jjumba Lubowa continues to blend spirituality, culture, and music in a unique way that has inspired millions of followers around the world. The release of “SUPER POWER” marks another milestone in his mission to revive African traditions, celebrate ancestral spirituality, and empower communities through cultural expression.

    ## A Leader Bridging Spirituality, Culture, and Music

Born in 1978 in Rakai District (now Kyotera District), Uganda, **Jjumba Lubowa Aligaweesa** rose from humble beginnings to become one of the most influential voices advocating for the revival of indigenous African spirituality.

After losing his father, **Senyonga Mugerwa Paulo**, at a young age, Jjumba was raised by his mother **Theresa Namakula Nakamanya** under challenging circumstances. He later grew up under the care of a Muslim relative, **Hajj Sulait Mugerwa**, which exposed him to different religious traditions early in life.

However, through spiritual experiences and a deep connection to ancestral heritage, Jjumba eventually dedicated his life to the revival of African spirituality. This journey led him to establish and lead **Tondism**, a spiritual tradition rooted in Africa’s pre-colonial beliefs and practices, emphasizing ancestral reverence, cultural identity, and harmony with nature.

Today, his movement has attracted **nearly three million followers worldwide**, with over **100 worship centers across Uganda and the diaspora**.

    Champion of Indigenous African Faith

As the **Ssabakabona (Universal High Priest)** of Tondism, Jjumba Lubowa has played a critical role in promoting African cultural identity and spiritual independence.

Among his major achievements as a spiritual leader are:

    * Founding and registering **Enzikiriza Y’obuwangwa n’ennono (Tondism Faith)** in Uganda

    * Establishing **over 100 worship centers** locally and internationally

    * Training and ordaining **more than 1,000 cultural and spiritual practitioners**

    * Co-authoring official doctrines of Tondism that were **gazetted by the Ugandan Government in 2021**

    * Representing African spirituality at international cultural gatherings and **UNESCO forums**

Through these efforts, Jjumba has become one of the most prominent advocates for **religious freedom and cultural pride in Africa**. He has also been vocal about the importance of reclaiming African identity, encouraging communities to reconnect with their ancestral traditions and heritage.

Music as a Tool for Cultural Awakening

Beyond spirituality, **Jjumba Lubowa Aligaweesa** has built an impressive reputation in the Ugandan music industry. His music, inspired by traditional storytelling and spiritual philosophy, blends elements of **kadongo kamu** with powerful cultural messages.

His songs often explore themes such as African identity, spiritual awakening, moral values, and community unity.

To further support this mission, Jjumba founded **Baamu Records**, a music label dedicated to producing traditional and spiritual music while mentoring emerging cultural artists.
