On Sunday, four deacons from the Holy Cross Family became priests and they include Rev. Fr. Benedict Kamushana CSC (Mbarara Archdiocese), Rev. Fr. James Nyenza CSC (Tanzania), Rev. Fr. Novert Ogezi CSC (Mbarara Archdiocese) and Rev. Fr. Matayo Bwanandeke CSC (Kasese Diocese).
Rt. Rev. Patrick M. Neary CSC, Bishop of the Diocese of Saint Cloud, Minnesota, USA, presided over the ceremony at Holy Cross Lake View SSS and urged the just ordained priests to serve with humility.

“Today is a significant turning point in your respective lives my dear sons who have been positioned closer to Christ the High Priest. By laying on of hands and consecration prayer set you apart to serve God’s people faithfully, humbly and lovingly.” You are no longer your own; you are now stewards of God’s mysteries and servants of Christ,” Bishop Neary said adding that being a priest is a sacred duty rather than a privilege for personal benefit.
“It is your responsibility to boldly proclaim the word of God to reverently perform the sacraments, and to care for the faithful with a heart that is like that of Christ the Good Shepherd who gave His life for His sheep. You must be rays of hope, conduits of mercy and witnesses of the gospel in a world that is frequently tainted by misunderstandings, divisions and spiritual hunger.
In a same vein, Rev. Fr. Peter Caxton Mayanja CSC, the Provincial Superior of the Province of East Africa, tasked the recently ordained priests with assisting God’s people in seeing the hope inherent in the everyday cross that crosses their path.
In addition to congratulating Holy Cross Lake View SSS on its 32nd anniversary, the provincial superior announced that the new priests will remain at their current duty areas.
The quadruple priests, under the direction of Rev. Fr. Matayo Bwanandeke CSC, expressed gratitude to their host parishes, parents, and superiors for the welcome they received. They pledged to faithfully serve their respective congregations.
Rt. Rev. Charles Martin Wamika was represented by Jinja Diocese Chancellor Rev. Fr. Gerald Muto and a number of priests attended the occasion.
In the meantime, as various Christians celebrated the four priests’ ordination, the host school was beaming because it had been in operation for thirty-two years.
A lot has been accomplished throughout the years, according to Rev. Fr. Prosper Atukwatse CSC, the head teacher of the school.
“We are pleased of the significant outcomes we have consistently recorded over the course of our 32 years of education to serve.
We provide a comprehensive education that has allowed us to generate well-rounded students who thrive here,” Fr. Prosper said, adding that a major contributor to their success has been their positive working relationships with the various stakeholders.
Dr. Idiobe Muwanika, one of the few aeronautical engineers in Uganda currently employed by Boeing, is one of the exceptional graduates of the institution, which was founded in 1993 by Fr. Bob Hesse CSC.
Visitors from Tanzania, Tororo Archdiocese and the Mbarara Archdiocese among others attended the joint festivities
