Government, investors, manufacturers, and energy sector players gathered at the UMA Show Grounds in Lugogo, Kampala, for the Fourth Power & Elec Uganda International Expo.
The Expo runs from 9th to 11th July 2026 at the UMA Show Grounds in Lugogo, Kampala, with participants expected to explore new technologies, investment opportunities, and partnerships shaping Uganda’s energy future, and was opened by the State Minister for Energy and Mineral Development, Hon. Phiona Nyamutoro.
Speaking at the opening Hon. Nyamutoro said the government views energy as a key driver of industrialization, job creation, and socio-economic transformation.
She noted that Uganda is focusing on expanding energy infrastructure, promoting renewable energy solutions, and attracting partnerships that support technology transfer, innovation, and local value addition.
The three-day exhibition showcased innovations in the power and renewable energy sector aimed at addressing growing energy demand, promoting investment, and strengthening partnerships.
Speaking at the 4th Annual Power & Elec Uganda International Expo 2026, Ashish Sarswat , the Business Head at Gold Star Battery (U) Limited said they participated in this expo to showcase the high-quality, reliable, and sustainable energy storage solutions that power a cleaner and more sustainable future produced by the company .

Speaking at the launch of the expo, Dr Ezra Muhumuza, the executive director of UMA revealed that they are partnering with several private institutions across its supply chain to enhance participation and economic growth emphasizing the importance of visibility in promoting clean energy technologies.
Digvijay Singh, CEO of Exhibitions & Trade Services India Pvt. Ltd, noted that this year’s expo spans diverse sectors including power, energy, electricals, electronics, lighting, solar, transformers, and cables.
Hundreds of exhibitors from several countries across the Middle East, Asia, and Europe attended, alongside more than thousands of professional visitors and Uganda’s energy sector stakeholders, including the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Development, Electricity Regulatory Authority (ERA), and UEDCL.
The ministry says Uganda is implementing long-term plans to expand electricity generation, transmission, and distribution infrastructure while increasing access to reliable and affordable power through grid expansion, mini-grids, and off-grid renewable energy solutions.
The Uganda Manufacturers Association says the Power & Elec Uganda International Expo has continued to grow since its first edition and is providing a platform for local and international companies to showcase technologies, build partnerships, and support Uganda’s energy ambitions.
