Spice Uganda concert Lugogo 2026 excitement reached fever pitch on Monday morning as Jamaican dancehall queen Spice touched down in Kampala aboard Uganda Airlines, kicking off what promises to be one of the most anticipated entertainment events of the year.

The internationally celebrated artist, known for her electrifying performances and massive Caribbean fan base, arrived ahead of her headline show at Lugogo Cricket Oval on 9th May 2026. Speaking at a press conference held at Serena Hotel in Kampala, Spice wasted no time expressing her enthusiasm for both the performance and the country itself.

“I’m so excited to finally be in Uganda. I’ve heard so much about the Pearl of Africa, and I can’t wait to perform for my fans and also explore the beauty, culture, and food here,” she said.

But her visit extends well beyond the concert stage. The Uganda Tourism Board has partnered with organisers to position Spice’s trip as a major international tourism promotion drive, with an itinerary that will take her to some of the country’s most breathtaking destinations.

The dancehall star is set to visit Murchison Falls National Park, the Source of the Nile, the historic Bulange in Mengo, Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary and Entikko Safari Lodge, where she will experience game drives and wildlife encounters. She is also expected to explore Kampala’s vibrant nightlife and sample iconic Ugandan cuisine — including the famous Rolex.

UTB Marketing Manager Francis Nyende underlined the strategic value of the visit for Uganda’s global tourism profile.

“Hosting international stars like Spice gives us a unique platform to showcase Uganda as a diverse and attractive tourism destination. Through her experiences, we are able to promote the beauty, culture, and hospitality that define the Pearl of Africa to a global audience,” Nyende said.

The timing could not be better. Uganda’s tourism sector is on a record-breaking run in 2026, building on 1.66 million international arrivals and $1.7 billion in revenue recorded in 2025. Gorilla trekking, adventure sports and immersive cultural experiences are driving a shift toward high-value tourism, cementing Uganda’s reputation as one of Africa’s premier sustainable travel destinations.

At Lugogo Cricket Oval, thousands of revellers are expected to pack the venue for what promises to be a night of non-stop energy. Spice will be joined on stage by popular local acts Ziza Bafana, Cindy Sanyu and Vyper Ranking, creating a vibrant fusion of Caribbean dancehall and Ugandan entertainment.

Tickets are currently available via FlexiPay and Quicket at the following rates:

    Ordinary: UGX 50,000

    VIP: UGX 150,000

    VVIP: UGX 300,000

Uganda has a strong track record of hosting Caribbean superstars, with past successful shows featuring Busy Signal, Sean Paul, Konshens, Tanya Stephens, Morgan Heritage, Tarrus Riley and Elephant Man — all of whom have left with glowing impressions of the country.

With Spice now in the country and the countdown to May 9th underway, Uganda is once again set to prove that it is not just a world-class nature destination, but a thriving cultural and entertainment hotspot on the African continent.
