Pearl Magic Prime is celebrating five years of unforgettable Ugandan storytelling, marking a milestone shaped by creativity, community and a commitment to elevating homegrown talent. Since launch, the channel has grown into a beloved household staple, a space where families gather, where new stars emerge and where stories rooted in Ugandan life take center stage.

As part of the anniversary commemoration, Pearl Magic Prime is celebrating the 5-year journey under the theme, The Sound of Our Stories, a nostalgic tribute to the iconic moments that have defined its journey. From catchphrases that became cultural gems to musical cues that instantly set a scene, the campaign celebrates the emotional resonance that makes Ugandan stories unforgettable.

Over the years, Pearl Magic Prime productions have continued to shine on prestigious stages such as the Uganda Film Festival (UFF), Africa Magic Viewer’s Choice Awards (AMVCAs) and other regional platforms. Fan favorites including Prestige, Sanyu, Damalie and Beloved have earned awards for acting, cinematography, directing and overall production quality, proving that Ugandan storytelling stands proudly among the best on the continent.

Reflecting on the milestone, Rinaldi Jamugisa, PR and Communications Manager, expressed gratitude to the audiences who have shaped the channel’s success.

“For five years, audiences have trusted Pearl Magic Prime to bring them stories that feel true to who we are. They welcomed our characters into their homes, they debated the plot twists and they celebrated the talent. This anniversary is a tribute to the viewers who make time for us every day and to the creators whose passion continues to push our industry forward.”

This past year introduced new shows that brought fresh voices and bold creative energy, fueling even livelier conversations among fans. These additions enriched the channel’s lineup and reinforced Pearl Magic Prime as the home of authentic, relatable Ugandan entertainment.

Speaking on the channel’s evolution and future direction, Margaret Mathore, Head of Channels for M Net East Africa, shared her pride in its impact.

“Pearl Magic Prime has become a beacon for Ugandan storytelling. In just five years, Mnet has invested greatly in the industry, delivering close to 8,000 hours of Ugandan stories brought to life for our audiences through commissioned, licensed and local language content programming.” Mathore revealed.

“These numbers represent more than content. They reflect careers built, talent nurtured and cultural narratives preserved. Our mandate remains to elevate local voices and package them with the polish and care that can stand proudly on any global platform,” she explained, adding that, “The next five years will bring even greater possibilities for creators and richer viewing experiences for our audiences.”

As the anniversary unfolds on air and across digital platforms, viewers will enjoy refreshed promos, special cast messages and other celebratory touches. These serve as simple tokens of appreciation for the audiences who have supported the channel since day one.

Pearl Magic Prime is available on DStv Channel 148 and GOtv Channel 303. Customers can also enjoy the ongoing We Got You promotion running until 28 February 2026. Active, new and recently reconnected GOtv customers receive a free upgrade to a higher package. It is the perfect opportunity to discover even more great entertainment including Loving Beyond Season 1, Crossroads Season 2, Senkyu Boss, and many more.
