On November 20th, 2025, the Managing Director of National Enterprise Corporation (NEC), Gen Mugira, conducted a tour of Uganda Security Printing Company factory (USPC) and Uganda Free Zones and Export Promotions Authority (UFZEPA) in Entebbe, both projects being undertaken by NEC Construction Works and Engineering Ltd (NEC Works), a subsidiary of NEC.
During the tour, Gen Mugira was received by Eng Brian Buhanda, General Manager of NEC Works.
Following the tour, Gen Mugira held a meeting with NEC Works staff, where he expressed satisfaction with the visible progress on the projects and congratulated the team responsible for the achievements.
He informed the staff that his visit was part of a follow-up on earlier decisions and strategic plans discussed in senior management meetings, aiming to refocus the team on NEC Works’ vision, mission, values, and strategic plans.
Gen Mugira commended NEC Works on its growth from undertaking small projects to executing strategic and important projects, citing the Kiira Motors Corporation Electric Vehicle Plant in Jinja Industrial and Business Park as an example.
He expressed happiness with the young professionals and engineers leading mega projects like USPC and UFZEPA, encouraging them to pursue continuous training and emphasizing the importance of competence, integrity, and discipline for their career growth and the organization’s reputation.
On his part, Eng Brian Buhanda welcomed Gen Mugira, thanking him for the tour and acknowledging his role in transforming NEC Works into a formidable company.
Eng Buhanda assured Gen Mugira of NEC Works’ commitment to quality and timely completion of projects, presenting an update on the status and progress of works on projects in Entebbe.
