Sanjay Awasthi, Chairman and Founder of Tembo Steels, has been recognized and awarded with “Africa’s Iconic Steel Brand 2025” at the House of Lords in London, United Kingdom. He also received an award at “The Next Economy Forum 2025” which concluded with an event at the House of Lords and Oxford University.

The Next Economy Forum 2025 Concluded on 03rd November at the House of Lords, UK Parliament, and 04th November were organizations were celebrated for their leadership, innovation, and impact.

Tembo Steels was recognized as “Africa’s Iconic Steel Brand 2025,” an award presented by Brand Vista Consulting (UK) at the House of Lords. Other individuals and entities were also among the “Forum Award Winners” at the event.   This recognition celebrates Tembo’s unwavering commitment to industrial excellence, innovation, and socio-economic development across Africa. At Tembo Steels, they remain dedicated to building Africa’s future — one beam, one sheet, and one structure at a time.

Designed as a forward-thinking platform to reimagine future economic and social frameworks, the forum was centered on the theme: “Building a Sustainable, Inclusive, and Tech-Driven Global Economy.”

The event brought together distinguished global business and policy leaders, Members of Parliament and diplomats, CEOs and investors, technology innovators, sustainability champions, and academic thought leaders.

Tembo has played a pivotal role in the Uganda steel industry. Since its inception in 2000, Tembo Steels has been a leader in steel manufacturing in Uganda, pioneering innovations like TMT bars production and lightweight structural steel. The company is the sole provider of primary steel production in the country, utilizing Directly Reduced Iron (DRI) to ensure high-quality products while setting benchmarks for purity and strength.

Despite challenges from foreign competition, such as Chinese imports, Tembo Steels has maintained its competitive edge by innovating and expanding its production capacities, including a DRI plant.

In addition to its industrial achievements, Tembo Steels is deeply committed to corporate social responsibility in Uganda, contributing to healthcare and environmental initiatives. From producing oxygen during the COVID-19 crisis to conducting extensive plantation projects, the company underscores its dedication to community well-being.

Tembo Steels has therefore set global benchmarks in sustainable steel production, reinforcing its leadership in the Uganda and Africa steel market while continuing to innovate and support the country’s economic growth.

Headquartered in the United Kingdom and operating across Asia, Africa, the Middle East, and Europe, Brand Vista Consulting is a Management, Marketing, and Strategy Consulting firm committed to enabling transformative business growth and socio-economic development through global leadership platforms, research-driven consulting, and strategic collaborations. Brand Vista Consulting partners with governments, corporates, policy institutions, and innovation leaders to design and implement strategies that drive measurable business outcomes and sustainable progress.
