    PLU-USA Diaspora Chapter Determined to Boost Museveni Support Base ahead of 2026 Polls

    The newly appointed Patriotic League of Uganda (PLU) -USA Diaspora Chapter has commended the National Chairman Micheal Nuwagira Toyota Kaguta and Gen. Muhoozi Kainerugaba for their strategical glare to appoint mobilisation leadership across all the states in America which they say will boost President Museveni and NRM support in the Diaspora.

    Ronnie Kananura, the Chairman PLU-USA Diaspora Chapter in a statement released November 13 2025 said they are bound by a shared history, culture, and the common goal of building a better future for themselves and supporting their motherland Uganda.

    ‘’Our diversity in backgrounds and perspectives is a strength, not a weakness, and it enriches our community fabric.However, we must ensure that these discussions do not turn into divisive conflicts. As the saying goes, “United we stand, divided we fall”.Instead of focusing on what divides us, let us concentrate on our common challenges and work together to find solutions. We are each other’s support system; we can achieve together what none of us can do alone’’, Kananura called for Unity.

    He further highlighted key Principles for Unity:

    Focus on Issues, Not Personalities: Address the issues at hand rather than attacking individuals.

    Practice Empathy and Understanding: Strive to understand different viewpoints, even if you do not fully agree with them.

    Prioritize the Collective Good: Remember that the primary goal is the well-being and progress of the entire diaspora and our homeland.

    Engage in Respectful Dialogue: Foster an environment where everyone feels safe to voice their concerns and ideas without fear of aggression or ridicule.

    Reject Fear and Division: Recognize that external forces sometimes exploit our differences for control; let us choose love and unity instead.

    ‘’Our future lies in our hands. By uniting our efforts and supporting one another, we can overcome any obstacle and turn our challenges into stepping stones toward greatness.Let’s build each other up, not tear each other down. In solidarity and with hope for a united future’’, added Kananura.

    We have been reliably informed that many of the appointed members are also travelling to Uganda to physically boost support for President Museveni and NRM flag bearers across the country.

    ‘’I encourage all of us to throw in your support, call a friend to call a friend and join this noble cause as we further PLU-USA ahead to greater heights’’, Kananura noted further.

    Toyota Kaguta urged the sixtymember team to remain focused on transforming PLU in the US, describing their mobilisation strategy as crucial to compatriots abroad.

    Stephen Rutasharara, the head of Diaspora and Kananura, described the new team as “men and women of substance” and praised Toyota Kaguta for being “spot on.”

    Chief Mobilizer Francis Nkuusa emphasized that their efforts will extend to Uganda itself, ensuring PLU’s mobilisation directly supports Museveni’s campaign.

    With Toyota Kaguta’s leadership and Kananura’s call for unity, the new US chapter team is expected to energize the diaspora, consolidate support for NRM, and weaken opposition influence, marking a decisive step in the reelection push.
