Tembo Steels Crowned East Africa’s Best Manufacturer of Steel, Rolling Products , TMX Rebars at the 5th EABQA 2025
Tembo Steels (U) LTD has once again been named East Africa’s Best Manufacturer of Steel & Rolling Products (Platinum) and Best Manufacturer of TMX Rebars ( Gold) at the 2025 East Africa Brand Quality Awards.
These awards, presented at the East Africa Brand Quality Awards ceremony on October 17, 2025, at the Golf Course Hotel in Kampala on Friday night acknowledges the Tembo’s platinum-and Gold level excellence in transforming Uganda’s economy and the steel sector.
Tembo Steels (U) Ltd is a major steel manufacturer in Uganda and one of the largest and most diversified steel plants in Africa. The company, which is ISO 9001:2015 certified, produces a wide range of steel products using locally sourced iron ore.
Tembo Steels is unique in the region for operating a fully integrated steel plant. It utilizes virgin iron ore from Kabale and coal to produce sponge iron, which is then used to create finished products for the East African market.
Tembo Steel’s officials , led by the Senior Marketing Executive, Wycliff Nyesiga recieved the award at the event organized to promote excellence in job creation, customer service, and innovation, have grown in prominence since their inception.
Patrick Nsubuga, Brand Ambassador of the East Africa Quality Brands Awards and Alconext Africa, said the initiative serves as a platform to celebrate sustainable, ethical, and innovative practices that continue to shape regional economic transformation.
Among the other award winners were Bakama Property, Huawei Technologies, Kampala Citi Industries, and Movit Products Ltd.
Others were Biva Organic, Eye Care, Gold Crown Beverages, Hariss International, Plascom, Aqua Industries, Simba Automobiles, and Kumirizi Farm Co.
