Former Tororo Municipality MP, Candidate for Eastern Region NRM Vice Chairman 2020 and most recently, Candidate for NRM National Entrepreneurs League Chair, Hon. Sanjay Tanna has been appointed to head a campaign Task Force, Eastern region under the Patriotic League of Uganda, (PLU) for President Museveni.
The appointment is contained in a letter authored by Michael Nuwagira Kaguta Toyota, the National Vice Chairman, Patriotic League of Uganda dated 21st October, 2025 and addressed to the Secretary General, NRM, Hon. Richard Todwong.
An inside source intimated to this Publication that the appointment follows a high stakeholders meeting between the Secretariats of NRM and PLU where it was agreed that the two sister Organizations cooperate in soliciting votes for the NRM Party Presidential Flag bearer, His Excellency President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni.
Hon Sanjay Tanna now heads the Eastern region team as Coordinator deputized by Jacqueline Aguram Namuyonga.
Under Tanna, are sub region coordinators; Samuel Nabeta for Busoga, Kinobere Herbert for Bukedi, Fadhil Twaha (Kapchorwa), Hon Peter Ogwang (Teso), and Woboya Vincent (Bugisu).
This team is purposed to re-inforce the NRM Secretariat’s efforts of mobilizing votes for President Museveni under the code name, “Tuko Pamoja.”
Sanjay Tanna, a renowned Vote hunter for the NRM Party Flag bearers now heads this formidable team that aims to garner a landslide victory for President Museveni in the 2026 general polls. In 2021 general elections, Tanna coordinated the Presidential Task Force in the Bukedi Sebei, and Bugisu sub regions that was headed by Al Hajji Moses Kigongo.
That Presidential Task Force is largely credited for the votes NRM garnered in these regions after an initial onslaught of Bobi Wine’s NUP.
It is also a reflection of a huge vote of confidence on Tanna who has relentlessly mobilized for the Party Flagbearers especially in the Eastern part of Uganda.
