President Yoweri Kaguta Museveni has commended Ms. Hellen Seku, the Commissioner of the National Secretariat for Patriotism Corps (State House), for her outstanding work in nurturing patriotism among Ugandans.

The President made the remarks on September 24, 2025, during the official launch of the Patriotism Secretariat offices in Muyenga. The colorful event drew thousands of National Resistance Movement (NRM) supporters, senior government officials, and members of the business community.

Museveni hailed Seku’s leadership, noting that during her tenure, more than 200,000 Ugandans had graduated from patriotic training programs. He also revealed that close to 450,000 youths had benefited from different patriotic courses and related mobilization programs.

The President made the remarks on September 24, 2025, during the official launch of the Patriotism Secretariat offices in Muyenga

“Today, I met with youthful patriots in Muyenga, organized by Commissioner Hellen Seku. They were divided into groups: graduates of patriotic courses, enterprise-based groups, social groups like single mothers, and pressure group mobilizers. I urged them to keep in touch with the Patriotism Secretariat and collaborate with the NRM to strengthen their mobilisation efforts. I welcome them,” Museveni said.

The President assured the groups of continued support from the government. He pledged to work closely with the State House Comptroller, Madam Jane Barekye, Commissioner Hellen Seku, and the Minister for Presidency, Hon. Milly Babalanda, to provide financial help to various youth and community initiatives.

The launch was attended by several key figures, including Government Chief Whip Hon. Hamson Obua, State Minister for Privatization and Investment Hon. Evelyn Anite, NRM Secretary General Hon. Richard Todwong, and Patriotic League of Uganda Vice Chairperson for Central Region, Mr. Frank Gashumba. Business leaders, led by Mr. Kirumira, also graced the occasion.

NRM supporters present assured President Museveni of their unwavering backing in the upcoming 2026 elections, praising the government’s efforts in wealth creation and national transformation.

Mr Gashumba the Chairperson of council for Bavandimwe and PLU Vice Chairperson Central Region said they are happy that today (24th/09/2025) as the Bavandimwe community as at an event to inaugurate the head offices of Patriotism clubs of Uganda, they had the opportunity to show their appreciation to President Museveni, by donating to him a special portrait in honour and offer of full support for him in the coming 2026 general elections adding that he is their official candidate in the Presidential race.

In her remarks, Hellen Seku thanked President Museveni for his unwavering commitment to empowering young Ugandans. She highlighted several programs that have transformed lives, including the Parish Development Model, Emyooga, and the Youth Livelihood Fund.

“These initiatives have given young people hope and the tools to fight poverty. Many youths have gained skills, funding, and mentorship, enabling them to start businesses and support their families,” Seku said.

She added that the Youth Capital Venture Fund has especially empowered innovators and entrepreneurs, turning their ideas into reality. Seku expressed gratitude to the President for standing firm in his mission to secure Uganda’s future by empowering the youth and promoting patriotism.
