As the countdown to Uganda’s 2026 general elections intensifies, the Revolutionary People’s Party (RPP)’s candidate Mr Frank Bulira has picked nomination forms from the Electoral Commission to stand for president in the 2026 general election, a journey through which he seeks to sit in the highest office Uganda.

After picking the nomination forms ,Bulira, also a leader of the Uganda Federal Democratic Organisation (UFDO) formed by the late Ugandan cardiologist Dr Aggrey Kiyingi, came out to declare  RPP’s readiness to contest at all levels and vowing to offer a principled, corruption-free alternative to the country’s political establishment.

The RPP  and UFDO crusade has over the years been carried out in Uganda carefully “door-to-door”, online, by supporters, and via radio from other countries including the US, South Africa and Australia.

Addressing a press conference at the party offices along Apollo Nsibambi road in Mengo,Kampala ,Bulira revealed that the RPP  IS grounded in transparency, discipline, and people-centered leadership — a sharp contrast, he said, to the current political terrain which he painted as chaotic and compromised adding that Ugandans should entrust them with the country’s leadership roles.

Rooted on “push” for federalism in Uganda, a concept often referred to as “federo,” a persistent and contentious demand embedded in calls for greater ethno-regional self-rule, Bulira said RPP will embrace everyone in dire need for change including those from NRM, FDC, DP, UPC and independents.

‘’As of now, most opposition parties are fighting amongst themselves. We shall talk to everyone who cherishes change – it is an all-inclusive Party. RPP wants a united prosperous and corruption-free Uganda that leads in African progress but also inclusiveness and equal opportunity for all Ugandans,” Bulira said.

He adds RPP wants to foster policy reforms rooted in accountability and justice, investment in infrastructure to bolster power production and connect people to markets.

“Employment is a big challenge but I want to address it through skills development, innovation and job creation and regional skilling centers targeting the youth all these at a federal system.”

He said RPP is determined to enhance the socio-economic wellbeing of all citizens through improved security, health, housing, food security and improved production techniques.”

Priding in adoring African nationalists like Dr.Aggrey Kiyingi, Bulira says he wants to make Uganda a springboard for the most desired Africa political unity as a key to unlock its economic potential.

RPP extended an invitation to dissatisfied members of other parties — particularly from the ruling National Resistance Movement (NRM) — to cross over and join what Bulira described as a party of “clarity and integrity.”

After picking nomination forms, Bulira will now traverse the country to collect signatures from all the districts.

On returning the forms, he will be required to pay shs20 million nomination fees before he is officially nominated by the Electoral Commission.

EC said recently that at least 200 aspirants have picked nomination forms to stand for president.
