The Talanta Festival Africa is set to take East Africa by storm, celebrating the shared cultural and musical heritage of the region in a historic, first-ever festival across multiple nations.
Anchored by global dancehall sensation Vybz Kartel, the festival promises electrifying performances and artistic expression, cultural showcases, and immersive experiences that highlight East Africa’s vibrant artistry.
Talanta East Afrika Festival is designed as a cross-border cultural experience celebrating East Africa’s music, fashion, cuisine and artistic expression while bringing together audiences from across the region.
The regional tour will take place in three major East African cities:
- 1 May 2026 — Kampala, Uganda (Lugogo Cricket Oval)
- 2 May 2026 — Rwanda (BK Arena, Kigali)
- 8 May 2026 — Nairobi, Kenya (Laurette Gardens, Kasarani)
Headlined by one of the most influential figures in global dancehall Vybez Kartel, the festival aims to position East Africa as a growing force within the international live entertainment landscape.
“Talanta East Afrika Festival is about creating a platform that unites East Africans through music, culture and shared identity,” said Bushington of Tunez Records Uganda, one of the festival’s lead organisers.
“We believe the region has incredible talent and cultural energy, and this festival is designed to showcase that power to both regional and global audiences.”
