St. Kizito High School, Namugongo continues to solidify its reputation as a leader in technological innovation and research, as it takes center stage at the 2026 Harvest Money Expo, a three-day event which brought together farmers, machinery dealers, financial institutions and value-addition players, from February 27 to March 1 , at Kololo Ceremonial Grounds in Uganda’s capital Kampala.
Under the theme — ‘Growth, Sustainability and Cooperation’ — is central to our agricultural engagement in Uganda’ , the expo, launched in 2016, has grown into Uganda’s premier agribusiness showcase, connecting farmers, innovators, financiers, policymakers and development partners, while promoting modern, profitable and sustainable agriculture.
Officials who visited St.Kizito High School’s booth hailed the school for actively promoting science and innovation through various initiatives which are fostering a culture of STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).
Speaking to reporters at Kololo , Ms Florence Nambejja Kikomeko , a teacher at St. Kizito High School Namugongo and the project coordinator said some of the items that were brought on the expo include recycling food waste into nutritious livestock feeds.
Nambejja added that , through these pioneering solutions, school is demonstrating how innovations and research-driven initiatives can be harnessed to foster sustainable development and improve livelihoods.
‘’The school remains committed to pushing the boundaries of innovation, ensuring that knowledge and technology, innovation work hand in hand for a better future’’, she said.
Adasa Mugisha Irombona , a student at St Kizito High School Namugongo said they have gained skills in food waste management and how to preserve the food in future among other competences.

The Harvest Money Expo, also marked its 10th anniversary this year as it returned for yet another edition.
Speaking at the launch, Bouwe-Jan Smeding, the Deputy Head of Mission at the Netherlands Embassy, said The Netherlands is proud to sponsor “this milestone edition”.
Over the last 25 years since its establishment in 1998, St. Kizito High School Namugongo has maintained its position as a centre of academic excellence in Wakiso district, Kira Municipality, Central Uganda and the entire nation.
