Looking back over the last three decades, while looking forward to the future, ERAM Uganda Limited a leading name in Animal Health solutions in Uganda, marks its 30th anniversary today. It’s been a journey defined by a relentless pursuit of resilience, passion, dedication and growth.
The anniversary festivities, kicked off at the start of the year in various regions of the country and today, will be the climax.
Since its founding in 1995, ERAM Uganda has grown from a small veterinary distributor into one of the most trusted names in animal health and pharmaceuticals, serving farmers, veterinaries and health care professionals nationwide.
They have championed quality products, professional expertise and sustainable health solutions, contributing to Uganda’s agricultural and public health sector.
This morning, ERAM Uganda Limited, also officially enter our head office here at Plot 3, Hoima Road-Bakuli in Kampala. What started out in a small shop in down town Container Village, has transformed into this amazing building where we are today.
Guest of honor, Lt. Col (Rtd) Bright Rwamirama, The Minister of State for Animal Industry, speaking at the event acknowledged the resilience of ERAM, “For three decades ERAM has played an instrumental role in supporting our livestock sector-enhancing animal health, improving productivity and the overall growth of Uganda’s animal industry. Your unwavering commitment to quality, innovation and ethical standards has earned you the trust of farmer’s, veterinarians and stakeholders around the country.” He said.
He added that, “On behalf of the Ministry of Animal Industry and the government of Uganda, I commend ERAM on this remarkable achievement and wish you continued success in the years ahead.”
Started by three friends – Edward Muhigirwa, Richard Mucunguzi and Dr. Alice Hope Banga -ERAM became the first veterinary pharmacy to be recognized and incorporated in Uganda through National Drug Authority.
The Managing Director Mr. Muhigirwa says, “As we celebrate 30 years, our focus remains clear-to continue providing trusted, science-based solutions that promote healthier animals, healthier people and a healthier Uganda.”
Dr Alice Hope Banga, the Director Finance and Administration also added that, “We are proud of our journey, having expanded our portfolio of products, built strong partnerships with global manufacturers and local distributors. We have also invested in training programs to enhance veterinary and pharmaceutical knowledge across the country. Therefore, we couldn’t be more excited for the future as we continue to lead in innovation in veterinary and pharmaceutical care.”
Rwabirama, concluded that, “As you mark this important milestone, I encourage you to continue upholding the highest standards of excellence, to invest in research and local manufacturing and to nurture the next generation of professionals in veterinary science and animal health.”
