This year’s theme, drawn from Acts 2:40 — “Getting Saved from a Crooked Generation”, encouraged graduates to uphold integrity and moral excellence in their professional and personal lives.

“Ndejje University has equipped you with godly values to enable you to bear excellent fruit and stand out from this crooked generation,” remarked Rt. Rev. Dr. Hannington Mutebi, the University Chancellor.

“The world is yearning for people of integrity, and we are confident that you will represent us well.” The Chancellor further reaffirmed the University’s commitment to academic excellence and innovation, citing ongoing investments such as the new Anatomy Block and the Mechanical Engineering Workshop.

The Vice Chancellor, Rev. Canon. Prof. Olivia Nassaka Banja, congratulated the graduands on their achievement and called for renewed focus on research, science, and innovation as drivers of socio-economic transformation.

She reiterated the University’s mission to nurture mature, responsible graduates equipped to serve their communities. Prof. Banja also highlighted the University’s recent milestones, including participation in the 11th UNESCO Africa Engineering Week, success in the Ultimate University Quiz, and the recognition of Mr. Roice Bwebale, who was honoured as an African Research Laureate. Graduation Statistics A total of1,116 students graduated this year — 482 females (43.2%) and 634 males (56.8%).

The awards conferred included: · Doctor of Philosophy (PhD): 3 · Master’s Degrees: 53 (15 females, 38 males) · Postgraduate Diplomas: 32 (11 females, 21 males) · Bachelors: 753(433 Males,320 Females) · Diplomas: 201(108 Males, 93 Females) · Certificates: 75 (43 females, 33 males) Unveiling the Mechanical Engineering Workshop In his keynote address, the Chief Guest Rt. Rev. Moses Banja urged the graduates to remain vigilant and steadfast in faith as they navigate the challenges beyond campus.

He later officiated the launch of the new Mechanical Engineering Workshop, which houses two landmark additions to the University’s training infrastructure: · A Heavy Duty Lathe Machine · A Universal Tensile Testing Machine These installations elevate Ndejje University into the ranks of fewer than ten institutions in Uganda possessing a fully calibrated tensile testing machine suitable for advanced engineering training and materials research.

Enhancing Engineering Education The Heavy-Duty Lathe Machine—often called “the mother of all machines”—is foundational to modern manufacturing. It allows students to cut, shape, drill, and finish metals with precision, simulating real industrial environments. The Universal Tensile Testing Machine, equipped with digital controls and advanced analysis software, enables students to test and understand material strength, elasticity, and failure points—bringing theory to life through experimentation. “Our approach is deliberate,” noted Prof. Banja.

“We want our students to understand the fundamentals of machining before progressing to CNC systems. We are training engineers, not just operators.” Benefits Beyond the Classroom · For Students: Provides hands-on training in machining, product design, and materials testing. · For Research & Innovation: Supports prototype development and material science research.

For Industry & Community: Offers fabrication, repair, and testing services for local innovators and industries. A Commitment to Excellence With this investment, Ndejje University continues to raise the bar in engineering education. The Mechanical Engineering Workshop stands as a symbol of the University’s pledge to build the infrastructure necessary for transformative learning and innovation—positioning Ndejje as a national leader in practical, valuesbased engineering training.

“This launch is more than an unveiling of equipment—it’s a demonstration of how Ndejje University is setting the pace in engineering education in Uganda,” said Prof. Banja. Ndejje University congratulates all graduates and reaffirms its mission to provide holistic, Christ-centered education that empowers graduates to serve with integrity and excellence.
